This Lenovo ThinkPad E15 was stuck at 5V on USB-C and wouldn't negotiate 20V charging. In this video, I diagnose the charging fault and track it down to the RTS5455 USB-C Power Delivery (PD) controller. I start by checking the USB-C input circuit and measuring resistance around the 100K resistor. On the MOSFET output line feeding the PD controller, I find only 1Ω. To locate the short, I inject just 1V into the affected line and use a thermal camera to observe the result. The RTS5455 and the surrounding trace light up dramatically, revealing the area associated with the fault. After removing the RTS5455, the resistance rises from around 1Ω into the kΩ range, providing strong evidence that the controller was responsible for the low-resistance condition. This is a real motherboard-level troubleshooting example showing how resistance measurements, controlled voltage injection and thermal imaging can help diagnose a USB-C charging problem. If you're diagnosing a Lenovo ThinkPad E15 stuck at 5V, a USB-C PD negotiation fault or a suspected short around the PD controller, this repair may help you understand the diagnostic process. #Lenovo #ThinkPadE15 #RTS5455 #USBPD #MotherboardRepair #SalvaMiPC #RobertFixes

This Wacom Cintiq 24HD Touch DTH-240 was sent to me because it wasn't working. The customer had already purchased a replacement power supply, but when he connected it to the Cintiq, sparks came from the connector. After diagnosing the 4H.1C2E1-A00 board, I found that the motherboard itself was actually fine. The problem was the replacement power supply. The connector had the wrong pin orientation, meaning the power was being supplied to the wrong pins. I opened the original and replacement power supplies, transferred the original cable and connector to the new PSU, and soldered everything back together. After that, the Cintiq powered up and worked normally again. A good example of why it's important to verify the PSU voltage and pinout before assuming the motherboard is damaged. #Wacom #Cintiq24HD #Cintiq24HDTouch #ElectronicsRepair #MotherboardRepair #PSURepair #PowerSupply #PCBRepair #SalvaMiPC #RobertFixes

Full repair and restoration of a fake/clone Red PS5 DualSense controller that came in with two major issues: severe analogue stick drift on one of the sticks and a dangerous, swollen ("fat") battery. In this video, we tear down the knock off controller to inspect the internal build quality compared to an original OEM DualSense, replace the faulty stick potentiometers to eliminate drift, swap out the hazardous battery for a fresh unit, and run a full gamepad test. #PS5Controller #DualSense #ElectronicsRepair #StickDrift #DIYRepair #SalvaMiPC #RobertFixes

This HP All-in-One 24-df1000 came in with a serious motherboard fault caused by two blown capacitors. When plug-in the charger, the light on the charger will just blink. The damage wasn't limited to the capacitors themselves. Parts of the PCB were badly burned, with damaged copper tracks that had to be carefully cleaned and rebuilt. In this repair, I use a Dremel to remove the burned PCB material, expose good copper, rebuild the damaged traces, replace the capacitors and protect the repaired area with solder mask. This is a real motherboard repair showing the process of recovering a badly damaged PCB rather than simply replacing the entire board. If you're working on an HP All-in-One with a no-power problem, blown capacitors, burned PCB or damaged motherboard traces, this repair may give you some useful ideas. #HP #HPAllInOne #MotherboardRepair #PCBRepair #ElectronicsRepair #CapacitorRepair #NoPower #LaptopRepair #SalvaMiPC #RobertFixes

Step-by-step disassembly, internal deep cleaning, and reassembly guide for the Pioneer Kuro KRP-M01 Media Receiver. Following up on subscriber requests from our previous KRP-M01 repair video, this complete guide shows you how to open the chassis safely without breaking delicate plastic tabs, clean the clogged internal cooling fan, and reassemble everything correctly. This Pioneer Plasma TV media receiver hides an internal fan that acts like a dust magnet, so deep cleaning it every few years will keep this electronic masterpiece running at its best. Keeping the internal fan and heatsinks free of dust is essential for proper heat dissipation and helps prevent thermal shutdowns and power supply failures (such as the common 8-blink error code). ⏱️ Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro & Case Overview 01:36 - Remove the 2 bottom plastic screws 03:13 - Remove the 3 rear screws holding the top plastic shell 04:05 - Remove the top plastic cover 04:29 - Remove the 2 side plastic covers 05:15 - Identify & remove the 14 screws holding the top metal case 09:26 - Remove the top metal case 10:17 - Fan & heatsink removal and cleaning 15:17 - Deep cleaning & dust removal inside the chassis 22:48 - Reassemble cooling fan 24:50 - Reassemble top metal case 26:08 - Reassemble side plastic covers 27:25 - Reassemble top plastic cover 30:22 - Overview & final check 🔗 Previous Video: https://youtu.be/9qCydO_01XM #PioneerKuro #ElectronicsRepair #KRPM01 #Teardown #Maintenance #SalvaMiPC #RobertFixes

In this video I diagnose and repair a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 that is not charging. The laptop was working normally on battery power, but it would not run from the charger and the battery would not charge. I check the USB-C charging system, PD negotiation and motherboard to find the cause of the problem. Both USB-C ports were working differently. One port negotiated 20V correctly but was not charging the laptop, while the other appeared completely dead. The USB-C PD controller itself was also working correctly. In the end, the fault turned out to be a much easier fix — and a very common problem on these Lenovo IdeaPad models. This is a real laptop repair showing the diagnostic process, measurements and fault finding rather than simply replacing parts and hoping the problem is solved. If you're working on a Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 with a USB-C charging problem, battery not charging, or a laptop that won't run from the charger, this repair may help with the diagnosis. #Lenovo #IdeaPadSlim5 #USBCharging #USBC #PDController #LaptopRepair #NotCharging #ElectronicsRepair #MotherboardRepair #SalvaMiPC #RobertFixes

Is your laptop hinge too tight or difficult to open? In this video I show how I adjust a tight laptop hinge to reduce the stress it puts on the screen assembly and plastic mounting points. A stiff hinge can eventually cause cracked plastics, broken mounting points or damage around the display hinges. Adjusting the hinge tension can help prevent these problems before they become a much bigger repair. For this repair I use an HP 15-cd as an example, but the same basic technique can be useful on many different laptop models. #HP15cd #LaptopRepair #HingeRepair #LaptopHinge #SalvaMiPC #RobertFixes
